We develop tools that enable the synthesis and selective modifications of (oligo)saccharides with minimal synthetic effort and in high selectivities. These studies utilize catalytic processes compatible with a broad selection of functional groups and classes of substrates.

Multidrug resistance

Bacterial multidrug resistance is a global health problem and we leverage our expertise in organic synthesis to address this important challenge. Our current interests are focused on thiopeptide antibiotics and related classes of natural products with validates activities. These studies are conducted in synergy with our efforts to develop synthetic vaccines against some of the most threatening pathogens.
